Aero Engine Test Cell High-Volume Ventilation Fan Package

Location : 📍 Brisbane, QLD
Date / Time : 🗓️ August 2026
Project ID : #ADFC-CS-106

Project Overview

ADFC engineered and manufactured an ultra-high-volume industrial ventilation fan package for an aerospace turbine test cell facility in Queensland, designed to handle rapid heat dissipation and exhaust scavenging during full-throttle testing.

The Engineering Challenge

Turbine testing generates massive thermal loads and intense acoustic sound pressure. The ventilation package required high dynamic pressure resilience, certified aerodynamic balancing (ISO 1940 Grade G2.5), and severe noise attenuation.

Heavy-duty centrifugal exhaust fan on vibration-isolated base
Heavy-duty industrial centrifugal exhaust fan package equipped with multi-splitter acoustic silencer.

Our Engineered Solution

ADFC delivered a high-capacity custom heavy-duty centrifugal fan package:

  • Heavy-Duty Industrial Centrifugal Fan: Backward-curved aerofoil impeller manufactured from high-tensile steel, delivering 75,000 m³/hr at 2,800 Pa static pressure.
  • Inlet & Outlet Acoustic Silencers: Multi-splitter acoustic silencer modules achieving a 28 dBA insertion loss reduction.
  • Direct-Drive High-Temp Motor: 90kW high-efficiency electric motor mounted on an isolated vibration-dampened inertia base.
  • Integrated Monitoring Instrumentation: Triaxial vibration transmitters and bearing temperature sensors integrated into the facility SCADA control system.

Commissioning & Outcome

The fan package operates seamlessly under continuous full-load test cycles, providing exceptional thermal management and meeting strict workplace acoustic compliance standards.
