OUR ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

PROTECTING WORKING ENVIRONMENTS & THE PLANET

At Australian Dust & Fume Control (ADFC), our core mission is engineering advanced clean air technologies that eliminate workplace respiratory risks, reduce industrial emissions, and protect local ecosystems across Australia.

Heavy manufacturing, mining, chemical synthesis, recycling, and woodworking operations generate airborne particulates, toxic chemical vapors, and combustible dusts. Our custom-engineered filtration systems capture up to 99.9% of hazardous sub-micron particulates, ensuring clean emissions that comfortably exceed strict EPA standards and Safe Work Australia workplace exposure limits.

QUALITY, HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT

Our integrated management system governs every stage of CAD engineering, in-house fabrication, on-site installation, and preventative maintenance.

Quality Assurance

100% Australian Made in our Wetherill Park facility. We enforce strict quality controls across high-tensile steel procurement, precision CNC laser cutting, continuous seam welding, and pressure vessel testing to guarantee exceptional structural longevity.

  • ISO 9001 Quality Management Alignment
  • In-House Non-Destructive Weld Testing
  • Comprehensive Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)

Workplace Health & Safety

Zero-harm philosophy backed by site-specific Safety Management Plans (SMP), Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and full compliance with Safe Work Australia codes of practice. All combustible dust installations incorporate certified explosion relief venting.

  • AS/NZS 4745:2012 Explosion Venting Standards
  • Site Safety Management Plans (SMP)
  • Operator Respiratory Protection & Clean Air Verification

Environmental Stewardship

Advanced filtration media (polyester needle felt, PTFE membrane, and spunbond cartridges) trap fugitive dusts down to 0.3μm. Chemical wet scrubbers neutralize corrosive acid gases and toxic vapors prior to atmospheric release.

  • High-Efficiency Sub-Micron Particle Containment
  • Acid Gas & Chemical Fume Neutralization
  • Zero Fugitive Emissions to Local Communities

Energy Efficiency

We integrate Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) smart fan modulation, automated pressure-drop cleaning, and aerodynamic duct networks to dramatically cut plant electrical consumption and operational carbon footprints.

  • Automated VFD Fan Modulation
  • Low Pressure-Drop Aerodynamic Duct Design
  • Dynamic Demand-Based Suction Control

STANDARDS & CODE COMPLIANCE

Every ADFC extraction system is engineered to comply with Australian and international statutory regulations.

AS/NZS 4745:2012 & NFPA 68/69

Combustible Dust Explosion Mitigation & Venting

Timber, grain, plastic, aluminum, and chemical dusts carry severe deflagration risks. ADFC engineers calculate Kst explosion indices and Pred vessel design pressures to specify flameless explosion vents, burst panels, backdraft isolation flap valves, and chemical suppression barriers in full accordance with AS/NZS 4745:2012 and NFPA standards.

Safe Work Australia (WHS)

Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) & Hazardous Fume Controls

Following Safe Work Australia's updated 2024 workplace exposure standards for engineered stone, masonry, and toxic weld plumes, our capture hoods operate with verified minimum transport velocities to prevent particulate settling, capturing hazardous RCS and hexavalent chromium at the source.

EPA & State Clean Air Acts

Atmospheric Emissions & Boundary Limit Compliance

ADFC extraction systems are designed to guarantee stack emission concentrations far below state statutory limits (<10 mg/Nm³ for particulate matter). Our wet scrubbers incorporate precision multi-stage spray manifolds, packed beds, and mist eliminators for complete acid gas and odor neutralization.

AS 1668.2 & AS/NZS 3000

Mechanical Ventilation & Hazardous Area Electrical Wiring

All electrical control panels, differential pressure sensors, pneumatic solenoid valves, and motor wiring meet AS/NZS 3000 Australian Electrical Standards and Zone 20/21/22 hazardous area explosion-proof (Ex-d / Ex-e) ratings where combustible dust atmospheres exist.
